As a scientist at the Fraunhofer Institut for Applied Solid State Physics in Freiburg I develop infrared image detectors based on compound semiconductor materials. Until recently I worked as a systems engineer in the semiconductor backend industry in Switzerland and Singapore. Previously I did research in experimental semiconductor physics at Oxford University for my D.Phil. I also have an M.A. and an M.Sci. from Cambridge, where I moved from Germany for my undergraduate studies. I enjoy wine and food among other things and like to dabble in art and computer science when I find the time.
